Texas clinicals, answered.

I finished my 60 hours online. Can I just take the test?

No. Texas HHSC requires 100 hours for certification: 60 hours of classroom theory, which you have, and 40 hours of hands on clinical training in a state approved facility.

How do I get my 40 hour clinical certificate?

Enroll with a state approved clinical provider. We match you with facilities and schools that accept students who completed theory online. When you finish the 40 hours they issue your completion certificate.

What is TULIP?

The Texas Unified Licensure Information Portal. It is where your training is verified and where you apply to take the state exam once all 100 hours are complete.

How much do clinicals only programs cost?

It varies. Some nursing homes offer free clinicals if you agree to work for them. Private schools charge a flat fee for the clinical portion. A workforce board voucher can cover it.
