About CNA training, answered.

What is a CNA training program?

A state approved course that prepares you for the nurse aide certification exam. Federal rules require at least 75 hours, with classroom time and supervised clinical hours in a facility. Most states require more.

How long does it take?

Four to eight weeks for most programs, sometimes three for full time formats. Add a few weeks after class for the state exam and the registry posting.

How much does it cost?

Published prices in this directory run from a few hundred dollars to about two thousand. A WIOA voucher usually covers the whole published price, including books and the exam fee.

What do I need to enroll?

Typically photo ID, a background check, a TB test or physical, and sometimes a reading assessment. Each program lists its own requirements on its page.

Can I take it online?

Many states let you do the classroom portion online. The skills lab and the clinical hours are always in person, and the state exam is in person.

Do not pay for it yourself.

Most students in this directory qualify for a voucher that covers the whole program.
